COVID-19 UPDATE
At Upendo Homecare, we take the safety and wellbeing of our clients and caregivers very seriously. In light of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we have implemented a range of precautions and safety measures to protect our clients and staff members.
First and foremost, we closely monitor and follow guidelines issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other health authorities to stay up-to-date on the latest developments and recommendations related to COVID-19. We also conduct regular training sessions with our staff members to ensure that they are informed and equipped to implement all necessary safety protocols.
When assigning caregivers to clients, we take into account any potential COVID-19 exposure risks, and assign caregivers who have tested negative for COVID-19 and who have not had any recent exposure to the virus. We also screen all staff members for symptoms of COVID-19 on a daily basis and require them to self-report any symptoms or exposure risks immediately.
To minimize the risk of transmission, we require all caregivers to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including masks, gloves, and gowns, when providing care to clients. We also encourage our clients and their family members to wear masks and practice social distancing whenever possible.
We have implemented enhanced cleaning and disinfection protocols in all client homes, with particular attention paid to high-touch surfaces and areas. We also provide our caregivers with regular training on proper cleaning and disinfection techniques to ensure that all surfaces and equipment are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected after each use.
In the event that a client or caregiver tests positive for COVID-19, we follow all recommended protocols and guidelines for isolation, testing, and contact tracing. We also notify all clients and caregivers who may have been exposed, and work closely with local health authorities to ensure that all necessary measures are taken to protect the health and wellbeing of everyone involved.
At Upendo Homecare, we are committed to providing safe and high-quality care to our clients, even in the face of unprecedented challenges. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and adjust our protocols and procedures as necessary to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our clients and staff members.
